Riff builds agents for a specific task inside a specific team, so what this one handles depends on who deployed it. It could be chasing an outstanding document, confirming a delivery date, answering a routine status question, or collecting the details a process needs before it can move on.

Within that task it reads your messages, checks them against the company's own records and policies, replies where the answer is clear, and updates their systems. Outside that task it decides nothing. When something is unclear, disputed, or against the policy it was given, it hands the thread to the named person at that company. That person owns the outcome.

The company that wrote to you deploys the agent. Riff builds it.

The agent sends from a real person's mailbox at that company. That person owns the outcome, sets the policies the agent follows, and receives every escalation.

Your data stays inside that company's environment.

• The agent processes the content of the messages between you and the company, plus the records it needs to answer them.
• That data stays inside the company's environment. Riff processes it as their data processor under GDPR.
• We do not use your data to train shared models.

A named person is accountable for every message.

A person at the deploying company sets the policies the agent operates under, reviews everything it flags, and can be reached directly by replying to the original message. The agent hands off any time you ask to speak to a human, or any time it is uncertain.

How to reach a person or report an issue.

If you would prefer to only communicate with a human, reply to the message and say so. The agent will hand the thread to the named person at the company that wrote to you and stop responding automatically.
